Typical ultra training
❌ …is all encompassing, 100% commitment, 100% priority over everything else in your life.
❌ Massive mileage. 75+ miles a week
❌ Massive time commitment.
❌ Run 6 or 7 days a week, many of those doubles (2x a day).
❌ Run all weekend every weekend.
❌ Oh, and don’t forget to do your strength training ❌ cross training ❌ your heart rate monitor ❌ your zone training ❌ monitor your blood sugar ❌ etc.
This does not put your life priorities first. Furthermore, and worse, running will become a chore or ☠️something you dread☠️. The long run, where it takes us and what it does for us is WHY we run! It should be exciting, and something you look forward to!
